Mosquito and tick

Mosquito and tick treatments for the yard

Mosquitoes rest in shaded plants and ticks wait at the edges of the yard. We treat those places on a schedule and show you the standing water we can't treat for you.

What's included

  • Treatments every three weeks, April to October

  • A walk-through of standing water

  • A report after every visit

  • Part of the Whole yard bundle

A visit

What happens at each visit

  1. Step 1: Walk the yard

We look at shade, brush, tall grass and anywhere water collects.

  2. Step 2: Treat the resting places

A licensed applicator treats shrubs, fence lines and the edges of the yard.

  3. Step 3: Show you the water

Gutters, birdbaths, buckets and low spots we can't treat for you are listed in your report.

  4. Step 4: Come back

Every three weeks from April to October, on the same route as your other visits when we can.

Before and after

What helps between visits

  • Empty standing water

A bucket or a birdbath can breed mosquitoes in a week. Empty them every few days.

  • Trim the edges

Cut tall grass and brush along fences. Ticks wait where it is long.

  • After a visit

Keep people and pets out of treated areas for the time on the label. We tell you what that is.

Questions

Questions about mosquito and tick

Will I still see mosquitoes?

Probably some. Treatments reduce them; results vary with the yard and the neighbors' yards.

What about kids and pets?

We can't promise that, and nobody who follows the label should. Licensed applicators use each product the way its label says. We tell you what we applied, where, and how long to keep people and pets off a treated lawn; the label sets that time. Ask for the product list for your visit and we'll send it.

How long until I see a difference?

Most homes see less pest activity within a couple of weeks, though it varies with the pest and the house. A lawn changes over a season, not a week, and weather and watering matter as much as the visits do.

What if pests or weeds come back between visits?

Tell us, and we come back and re-treat what is named on your visit report at no charge while your plan is active. The terms are under the bundle table; they don't cover pests or weeds we didn't treat for, or turf lost to drought, disease, heavy use or watering.
